This file contains both the first Windows 98SE/2000 driver and a Microsoft Video capture utility (AMCAP.EXE). This driver only operates in Win98 2nd edition and supports the NTSC TV Tuner only and therefore can only be used in North American region. According to Conexant, Windows 98 (1st edition) has a bug that will not allow the BT-848 WDM driver to work.
The WDM driver is totally incompatible with all the software that is using the old Video For Windows (VxD) driver. So, after installing the WDM driver, VDO phone, the TVMax tuner application, VideoCap and other software using the VXD driver will not work. At the present moment, only AmCap and WebTV supports the WDM driver. Therefore only install the WDM driver when WebTV is desired.
